Mapping Sandstone Ridges

Ultramag was invited to the Hunter Valley to run a Deep Ground Penetrating RADAR trial to test the ability of the tool in mapping shallow geological structure.

The DGPR is an extremely fast and effective method for this kind of imaging: two sandstone ridges were identified proximal to the existing mine sit, representing potential mineralisation targets.

Accuracy of the survey was constrained using RTK which gives great confidence for depth control and a custom derivative-style filter was applied to the images to highlight the features which can be observed on the images above.
